The idea that translation involves revealing and discovery of information from the source has been discussed in a few fields study, especially creative intersemiotic translation. These operations are fundamentally dependent on iconic properties. An operational criterion detrivializes common description icon as sign similarity to define more precisely processes through which it is possible discover or reveal new about its object. This becomes particularly interesting when we think multiple translations same source, each such distinct traits some may consider opposing one another. As an example be our case have selected Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures Wonderland, Through Looking-Glass What Alice Found There, both widely translated. Until now there no systematic analysis field studies relationship between targets. We compare two novels: 1980 TV episode Muppet Show by Jim Henson 1988 feature film Něco z Alenky Jan Švankmajer, displaying characteristics their own different works Carroll.
